Making the Unconscious Conscious with Pluto + bonus Ancestralite Meditation called “Healing with the Ancestors”

Yes, the energy may feel heavy right now, but could this also be an opportunity to review, heal and release issues, both personally and collectively?

On the 6th March, Pluto stationed retrograde and will remain retrograde in Aquarius until mid-October. Now, I know this may not be what some people want to hear, as we are all long overdue some good news, or even a little luck, but the Universe works in mysterious ways and it does not rush.

Divine timing is something beyond our control, and there is still so much for us to unpick. For now, we would be wise to draw upon the influence of the Sun in Taurus, which says, โ€œBe patient and keep your feet firmly on the ground and reconnect with nature.โ€

Already, many people are saying they are having deep, intense dreams that do not necessarily make sense, often containing issues from the past where they may have felt powerless.

Of course, many may also be feeling a sense of powerlessness and fear as the cost of living rises, world leaders fight like toddlers, and the media malevolently flirts with a new virus. The observation of increased dreaming is interesting though, and to me it feels as though the archetypal qualities of Pluto are having an effect, revealing what is hidden and drawing our awareness to the power games we, and others, may be involved in.

Pluto psychologically challenges us to transform. It rules death and rebirth, obsession, intensity, shadow, and deep, desperate emotions.

Pluto is currently situated in Aquarius, the humanitarian sign whose qualities are linked to community, social systems, the nervous system, technology, the internet, and the future. Yet my intuition guides me to believe that Plutoโ€™s retrograde in Aquarius is first requesting that we each excavate the past.

Dreams rarely make sense, and many people disregard them as nonsense. Yet others believe that dreams arise from the subconscious mind, which stores memories, beliefs, and experiences outside of our conscious awareness. This subconscious layer influences our decisions, habits, and emotional responses without us always realising it.

When we dream, we access this hidden layer, and it communicates symbolically, presenting scenarios that may involve repressed emotions, thoughts, memories and trapped feelings. Many believe dreams offer valuable insights that help us understand our psycho-spiritual blocks, and may even extend further, bridging into what some call the superconscious or collective consciousness.

It is also worth noting that Pluto is believed to have strong connections with karma. Whilst most people think of this as past life or present life karma, my intuition tells me that Plutoโ€™s retrograde is reaching deeper into the ancestral realm.

This suggests that some of what we are feeling and experiencing may not rationally feel like it is our own. On a personal level, it is important to discern this, and dowsing may offer some clarity.

We carry the stories of our ancestors. They will have endured wars, fear, sorrow, pain, suffering, restriction and injustice, but they will also have experienced peace, pleasure, joy, freedom and a sense of connection with something far greater than themselves.

Whilst karma might scare you, it is helpful to understand that in Hinduism, Buddhism and some other belief systems, karma is not simply a system of judgement about who gets punished or rewarded. Instead, it can be understood as โ€œcause and effect.โ€

We have all been the perpetrator, the victim and the saviour in past lives, but our ancestors have also been the perpetrator, victim and saviour too. It is possible that you carry inherited karma from your family tree.

This might seem unfair, and you may feel as though you are paying the price for stories your ancestors were involved in that have nothing to do with you. Yet the same could be said of past life karma too.

It is easy to become curious and carried away with investigating the story from the past, whether it is a story from your ancestral line or a past life. But it is important to stay present and know that it is a story from the past. You are not that story, and you are not that person. You may have a soul link, an ancestral link, or sometimes both.

Thankfully, Pluto being in Aquarius lends us some emotional distance and rational awareness. With this cool air of awareness, we can intentionally release hidden blocks without becoming too emotionally embroiled in the stories and characters.

Pluto in Aquarius is strangely giving me hope. Despite Pluto enforcing more introspection, healing of the past and shadow work, we know that if this is managed with mindfulness and compassion, we have every chance of transforming the ways we think and feel about the past, present and future.

My intuitively selected crystal ally for this period of Plutoโ€™s retrograde is Ancestralite.

Ancestralite is a trademarked name for a banded stone containing red/brown Jasper and a Haematite pseudomorph called Martite. It formed as iron and silica settled in layers on an ancient seabed. Over time, the silica became red jasper or chert, coloured by haematite, while the iron-rich layers became haematite, magnetite and martite through burial, metamorphism and oxidation.

This crystal was found in Minas Gerais region of Brazil. What really intrigues me about Martite is its age, as it is said to have formed around 2.5 billion years ago.

Iron is essential in the body because it forms part of haemoglobin, which carries oxygen in the blood, and myoglobin, which supports oxygen in the muscles. It is also involved in cellular function, growth, neurological development and hormone synthesis. If you have ever been diagnosed with low iron levels, you will know how exhausting it can feel, and how difficult it can be to think clearly or do anything at all.

Every physical human body that has ever lived on our great mother, our planet, has required iron to function and exist.

Humans receive iron into the body by eating foods such as red meat, or if you are like me and vegetarian, then spinach becomes a must. Historically, ancient humans used oxidised iron as red pigment, and it took a long time for humans to learn how to extract iron from ores and later forge tools.

Through the lens of morphic fields, iron can be viewed as a bridge between the human body and the Earth, carrying resonance with blood, strength, survival, ancestry, protection and ancient planetary memory.

Ancestralite naturally has a grounding and protecting influence keeping us present in our body and aware of our current environment. In particular it supports the Root Chakra at the perineum which is linked to the adrenal glands and could helpful for those feeling burnt out or suffer with anxiety. The Earth Star chakra below the feet is strengthened, deepening your connection to the Mother Earth and bringing you into resonance with her energy.

It is believed to be especially helpful for connecting with our ancestors and healing the past due to itโ€™s ancient evolutionary journey of formation and many see the layers representing the transgenerational levels that one must go through in connecting with the ancestors and elders.
