The Summer Solstice and our connection to the Sun

The Summer Solstice is considered a point on the wheel of the year whereby our sun has reached its zenith and is at it highest point in the sky in the Northern Hemisphere. You may experience a buzzy energised feeling or conversely feel like you’ve been zapped as you absorb the potent, mighty and magnificent rays of the Sun.

What we see from the sun is a tiny spectrum of its energy that is converted to colour in our brain. This is just 3% of what it shares! There’s far more energy that we are exposed to that is affecting us on an unconscious level.

In the suns rays are light information as our sun is not just a gaseous ball of fire but is a Solar Logos connected to a higher divine order and intelligence. Its rays bless us with vital energy that enables us to grow and experience the breadth and depth of what it is to be a human and a part of the cosmos and nature.

Our home and provider Mother Earth rotates around the sun as the sun leads us to new territories in the universe. These new energies are naturally distributed upon and through us and our planet to help us evolve and there is growing evidence from research that suggests our DNA is affected because of this.

Our governments are attempting to block our sun with geo-engineering under the guise of preventing climate change. I am suspicious of their true motives and reasoning.

Many civilisations worshiped their cultures Sun God requesting support. In a holistic model I see the Sun as a part of us and believe we are to nurture our relationship and understanding of it as a sustainer and guide as its energies flow through us.

Solstice traditions have been celebrated for aeons in most cultures as our ancestors looked upon them and the planets as living beings – that were gods and goddesses. Time was considered cyclical and seasonal and guided them in their day to day lives.

Our ancestors connection to the sun, moon, earth and nature was so strong that it determined their activities through their hyper-tuned-in pineal gland and circadian rhythms.

The Oak tree is still seen by many as a portal to other worlds and the solstice marks a time where the Oak King passes the baton on to the Holly King and internally and externally we witness the gentle descension of the sun that reaches its lowest point at Winter solstice.

This day reminds me that all of life is in constant motion, moving in cycles and we all rise and fall physically, emotionally, mentally and spiritually. There is no place for ego in nature, only a knowing that all has its purpose in the moment.

So, for this annual event we celebrate and embrace the joyous and abundant and creative life force that has blessed us and remember that we are the spiral dance of both light and dark.

Brightest solstice blessings to you and may you experience fulfilment and splendour in all you choose to do.

Love always
